Four years after its first appearance in the Black Rock Desert at Burning Man, the Before I Die project was installed at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington DC as part of No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man, an exhibition that “brings the large-scale, participatory work from this desert gathering to the nation’s capital for the first time.”

Organized by Nora Atkinson, the museum’s Lloyd Herman Curator of Craft, organized the exhibition in collaboration with Burning Man Project.
